There is a massive American Sycamore tree growing along Baltimore Street in historic Gettysburg. This old tree was a "witness" to the great battle and to Lincoln's procession to the cemetery where he delivered the Gettysburg Address.

Long ago, wood from the American Sycamore tree, also known as the "Buttonwood Tree," was used to make wooden buttons.

Witness Tree Button items are hand crafted from branches that fall to the ground from this living "witness tree."
