Show your support for HGAC! On Thursday, November 5, the Adams County Community Foundation (ACCF) will conduct the 2026 Giving Spree as a way for the community to support local non-profit organizations like HGAC.
HGAC hopes to raise both Today funds along with donations for its Giving Spree endowment. The HGAC endowment is a simple and forever way for our members and supporters to contribute to the ongoing mission of HGAC. Today gifts will support immediate needs like HGAC's Barn Grant Project and the Bonnie Braun Memorial Investing in Youth Initiative; Forever gifts will support the growth of HGAC.
You have the choice of giving a donation for Today, Forever or Both. Donation forms and more information will be forthcoming.
You have three methods for submitting your donation:
1. Drop off your donation form and check on Thursday, November 5 from 3 pm to 7 pm at the Wyndham Hotel Ballroom, 95 Presidential Circle in Gettysburg. Stop by the HGAC exhibit table and say hello to our volunteers!
2. Mail the donation form in time to arrive at ACCF by November 5. The mailing address is Adams County Community Foundation, 25 South 4th St. Gettysburg, PA 17325. Note: Please mail early to avoid any delays in mail delivery.
3. Give on-line at ACCFGivingSpree.org on November 5. Click on the site on November 5 any time between 12:01 a.m. and 12 midnight to complete your donation online. It’s quick, convenient and secure.

What programs will your contribution to HGAC help? Giving Spree donations will be divided between our Barn Grant Preservation Project and the Bonnie Braun Memorial Investing in Youth Initiative.
HGAC's Investing in Youth Initiative provides students with opportunities to learn historic preservation skills in timberframing and masonry. The Initiative helps fund an annual workshop at the George Spangler Barn for Building Trades students and also underwrites a field trip for students to the NPS National Historic Preservation Training Center in Frederick, Maryland every spring.
Your donation will also helpAdams County residents repair their barns. In 2025, HGAC awarded $30,000 in barn preservation grants to owners of six historic barns within Adams County. The barns are located all across the county, from Fairfield to Littlestown to New Oxford to Abbottstown to Biglerville. The preservation work done included roof replacement, masonry repairs, rebuilding of main barn doors, lower level post replacement and repairs to frame joists, beams and braces.
